The most consistent way to link is to input steam ID, which should not be confused with account name as they are completely different.
To do this:
1. Open your steam client
2. Click manage account on the top right
3. Select account details
4. Your steam id will be at the top of the page under account name (17 digits)
In app:
1. Go to deadlock account settings(top right)
2. Select change name
3. Input your steam id into the field
4. Select your profile in the search to confirm(should display only your profile and nothing else)
